General Information about BLR

We encourage having a team of 6 for scheduling conflicts. A minimum of 3 racers are required. Only 3 will race per event. (We will allow a 2 man team on occasion if pre-arranged, however, the remaining points will be forfeited to the opposing team.)

We encourage 1 racer replacement per team, per Season.  If you have open spots at the beginning of the Season or any team members that have not raced in the current season, you may fill those during the Season without penalty.  All other replacements will be reviewed by the BLR Committee representatives (MelodyMel, Klepto) and must be arranged prior to your event start.  Any replaced member will not be eligible to race the remainder of the current BLR Season.

In your event, with the Official present, the Home Captain has the option of picking their 3 racers or allowing the Away Captain to pick first. Once the designated Captain picks their racers, the opposing Team Captain will pick their parallel matchups for the first match of racing.

The 6 racers will have 10-15 minutes of practice laps on the track and to finalize any questions.

Each race is a two lap race. Each set of racers will race 3 races back to back. Once the first set of 3 by all 3 racers are complete, a second match will begin for a total of 12-18 races within each event.

a) A match constitutes a series of 3 potential races, meaning there is the possibility for one league event to have 18 races and at the minimum will have 12. Each match will pit one racer from one team against a racer from another in a 1 on 1 race. The match will be best 2 of 3 and will be worth 3 points. For example, if a Team A racer wins the first 2 races, they will win the match 3-0. If it is tied after the first 2 races, the winner of the third race will win the match with a 2-1 score. If your team wins the match with a 3-0 score, they will receive a quality win point that will be used as a tiebreaker in the final standing should teams be tied. At the end of the league event, the score will be some variation of 18 points.

b) If an opposing team is non-responsive or a no show the 1st week, all points are awarded to the showing team for championship seeding. The no show team will be sent a notice. If the same team is a no show in a second event through the season, they are omitted from the League and become a "bye" (without rights to any of the purse).

After completing the first set of 3 races, the 3 racers stay the same. Whichever Captain drew the first racer has the option to change his/her first racer lineup. The Captains will once again meet with the Official to pick the next 3 racers in rotation to form the second match lineup as they see fit. (Reminding the original 3 racers stay the same only the lineup may change.) Therefore, the lineup of the 3 original racers can be different the second set should the Captains choose them to be.

Officials, if you have any questions or need assistance, contact DanHowl and he will be able to help or be the direct connection to the committee for input.

An Official will:

a) Schedule the weekly event at the zone they are officiating. These events will be invite only to the participating teams. A deck will be placed for fans to watch from.

b) Verify there is a track in place for the event. If not, the official will arrange with the owner, host of the zone, or creditable track builder (including themselves) to put one in place.

c) Witness and record the draw of the lineup for the event.

d) Answer any preliminary questions to the event, enforce rules and guidelines, police any distractions and report final scores on a template form provided to them. (These will be uploaded and posted on the BLR site.)
